TryFluentia Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

TryFluentia Chrome Extension ("Extension") is a companion extension for the TryFluentia desktop application. The Extension allows users to view real-time transcription and AI-powered language learning notes while watching online videos.

The Extension is designed with privacy in mind. The Extension does not independently collect, store, or transmit personal data. User learning data processing is performed by the TryFluentia desktop application according to the user's settings.

The TryFluentia Chrome Extension does not collect:

• Personal information such as name, email address, or identification information
• Audio recordings or microphone data
• Video content
• Browsing history
• Website activity
• Location information
• Payment information
• Authentication credentials

The Extension only receives and displays information that is generated by the locally installed TryFluentia desktop application.

The Extension communicates with the TryFluentia desktop application through a local connection on the user's device.

This local communication is used only to:

• Receive real-time speech recognition (ASR) text generated by the desktop application
• Receive AI-generated language learning notes generated by the desktop application
• Display this information in the browser side panel

The communication occurs through a localhost connection and does not transmit this information to external servers through the Chrome Extension.

The Extension does not collect or store user data.

The Extension does not:

• Sell user data
• Share user data with third parties
• Use user data for advertising
• Use user data for tracking or profiling
• Use user data for creditworthiness or lending decisions

The Extension's single purpose is to display transcription and language learning assistance provided by the TryFluentia desktop application.

The Chrome Extension itself does not share user data with third-party services.

Any external services used by the TryFluentia desktop application, such as authentication, payment processing, or AI processing services, are handled separately by the desktop application and are described in the TryFluentia Desktop Application Privacy Policy.

The Extension does not permanently store transcription data, learning notes, or user content.

Temporary information displayed in the Extension exists only during the active user session and is removed when the Extension session ends.

Side Panel Permission

The Extension uses the Chrome Side Panel API to provide the user interface for displaying transcription text and language learning notes while users continue browsing.

Localhost Communication Permission

The Extension uses localhost permission to communicate with the TryFluentia desktop application installed on the user's computer.

This permission is only used for local communication between the Extension and the desktop application.

The Extension is not designed for children under the age required by applicable laws. The Extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
